ROUTINE ANALYSIS - MAIN AND TRACE ELEMENTS
The routine analytical section, performs the daily production samples from the manufacturing streams. The analytical performances are:-- Copper in concentrate
- Acid strength , H2SO4
- Phosphate in flotation feed samples
- Oxygen in rod product
- Magnetite analysis, Fe content
- Particle size distribution
- Moisture analysis on production stream samples.
- Silver and Mercury determination
The analytical methodology can be summarised as:-
- Inductive Coupled Plasma Analysis
- Atomic Absorption
- Auto Titrations
- LECO
- X Ray Flourescences

PRODUCT ANALYTICAL TESTING - ALL PRODUCTS FOR THE BUSINESS UNIT.
The XRF which was commissioned in 2013, is to increase the capacity of the analytical section. The high volumes of Magnetite samples made this a valuable instrument. The instrument is fitted with a 40 sample carousel that is automatically programmed to analyse samples with minimum operator controls.
The laboratory is also fitted with two new state of the art fusion bead machines that can produce 30 beads per shift. The analytical ranges for the Product Section are:-
- Metal Analysis
- Nickel Sulphate
- Silver and Gold In Anode Slimes
- Environmental Analysis
- Water Samples
- Magnetite Samples From Projects

The laboratory is segmented into three main functional areas:-
- The sample development department - all product and process concentrate samples.
- Analytical Services Department- determining of primary, secondary elemental analysis, plus trace elemental analysis, including fire assay.
- Research And Development - expanding the laboratory functions to meet supplier and customer requirements.
